DataValet VOD does not use VCR technology or need set top boxes in each guest room. We have taken an approach that will enhance the quality of the services we offer, and allow for changes in technology.

DataValet VOD is a server based digital system that uses a "smart wall tap" approach which is unobtrusive to your guest. This tap is mounted directly over top of the electrical box that houses the existing coaxial cable wiring in each guest room. This box is "smart" in the way it communicates with the system remote control and the television.

The programming is encoded and stored in the digital server located in the main meter room of the hotel. The movie is then transmitted to the room once a guest has requested the selection via the DataValet VOD remote control.

The movie is then added to the guest's folio using a PMS Interface, or a commercial thermal printer (supplied by Insight On Demand Systems) at the hotel front desk for billing.
